Pat and I had a quiet evening at home. He was actually napping when it got close to midnight and I woke him up so I could get a New Year's kiss.
We watched the college football semi-final championship games and they were both pretty much routs. UGH. It didn't make sense that they paired the number 1 team against the number 4 team. But then it really didn't seem to matter when the 2 and 3 teams were just as bad a game.
This morning we woke up late and piddled around with things, and then we took a nap. Now we're both up again, but we have nothing going on.
All our social events have been cancelled. One because of Covid and another because of illness in the family. (The nephew-in-law has had a stroke and is in the hospital.) We're very worried about the the stroke victim. He's a really nice man and we know how hard this is on his wife, who is a dear person as well.
The weather is beautiful today. Sunny and warm. We may take a walk later.
But mostly we're going to just be lazy.
Tonight I'll make the traditional New Year's meal of pork, black-eyed peas and greens. It's one of the few times during the year that I actually cook!
For all my friends, I send wishes that 2022 brings everyone joy.
