I actually have a good idea for an anniversary gift for once! Joe's impossible to buy for. Not because he's picky but quite the opposite, he really likes getting just about anything. He's honestly happy to receive socks for Christmas. This lack of pickyness is nice, I can't go wrong, but also frustrating, because I know there has to be *SOMETHING* out there that he would really like rather than just appreciate.
We talked a little bit last year about getting him a tablet to get e-textbooks on when he goes back to school. If he were able to buy a full semester's worth of e-texts rather than paper books the tablet would be paid for. The most common argument I hear against this logic is that you can sell back your texts at the end of the term, but I've got a stack of textbooks that I couldn't sell back because they'd gone on to the next version. Sticking me with books, some hardly touched for the class, that I spent close to $200 on that I can't do anything with.
Later this week I'll go to our local electronics store with Maddie and look around at what's available. I think that I'll go for an Android platform, from the reviews I've read those ones are affordable and also support the most e-texts. I'd go look around today, but I'd have to take all the kids with and I don't think Alta and Lilly could keep the secret. Maddie's not going to tell anyone. ;-)
