Thanksgiving was good. Went down to Huntsville, AL and spent the day with Joe's cousin and a little family. No candied yams though. His family doesn't do candied yams, which makes me sad. Guess I'll have to supply my own at Christmas this year.
Did a little black Friday shopping. Unless I see a spectacular deal, I don't think I'm going to be doing the early morning thing again next year. Went to one store (Kohl's) and spent nearly as long in line to check out as I did actually shopping. Later in the day I took the girls out, picked up a few things at Wal-Mart, had a good round of "3 Things" with address labels, deodorant, and a tree ornament. Went over to the mall, Lilly sat with Santa, Alta is still to scared/shy to say anything to him. I think once Alta is big enough to be over her Santa fear she won't believe any more. After the mall we went down to the furniture store and bought the girl's new beds. $750 later we can now all fit into our house once the new kid shows up.
I actually managed to get the Christmas cards in the mail this year! Today even! Yay! I feel very accomplished. Now all I have to do is remember to bring the few to hand deliver once we actually get together at Christmas.
We did some back yard photo-studio action last week and came up with some pretty good pictures for the cards. Joe's mom and aunt both said I should pursue photography professionally after I gave them their cards on Thursday. If only I liked doing portraits. *sigh*
