wild animals in captivity dont usually survive long

[Rogue is beginning to feel like a caged animal. She isn't coping well at all with being stuck in a place this small, with Alliance members around every corner, the Lich King on his creepy kick and his little Death Knight Minions floating about ( Read more... )

[Even if Rogue weren't speaking over the hearthstone network, there's at least one being close enough to hear her misery.

Feverfew has been doing some exploring of his own, content to leave the swirling mists an unexplored mystery as he plumbs the edges of the domain they encircle. Given the presence of other wildlife in the forest, and the utility a sharper sense of hearing and smell provided, the druid's chosen a feline form today. He'd been up in the trees, mostly, but the sound of someone speaking draws him down to the ground.

Rogue might get the feeling of being observed by something moments before a huge gray-brown forest lynx shoulders his way out of the underbrush, studying her with a level golden gaze. If the glowing eyes and outright boldness weren't enough, there's a definite feel of "not a normal animal" around the creature despite his appearance.]

[She's stretched her feet out in front of her, studying her boots and how the soles were becoming worn with use. Daily treks into the woods were made, and those mists had definitely been explored countless times. She was going to need new boots.

The first indication that she wasn't alone came along with her assassins senses; she felt watched. Perhaps not watched on purpose, whoever it was hadn't been there terribly long. Honestly, she should have known better, this place was crawling with people. Someone was bound to be out in the woods.

She was proven right when the lynx showed himself. She stiffened slightly, but peered right back at him with a returned boldness of her own. She does, however, keep a hand free in case she needs her blade(s).]

I should have known I wouldn't be alone for long. [She sounds mildly irritated, but not bothered. Unless he attacked her, then there might be a problem. She much preferred this over those ghastly Death Knights, though.

[As if in agreement--or perhaps apology--to the woman's words, the cat lowers his head, before padding out into the clearing around the rock. He stops halfway to the rock to sniff at the forest loam cautiously, before advancing to within arm's reach of Rogue.

His eyes go to her face, studying her briefly, before he thumps down with a suddenness common to felines great and small, tucking his limbs beneath him and settling down couchant. It seems this place Rogue's picked out is ideal for a rest, if she doesn't mind his presence--he'll just be staring lazily out into the woods, tail-tip flicking in pace with his thoughts.

Some of which include that this young woman could probably use a person to listen to her, but relations being what they are between blood and night elves, a cat in all its silence may be a more suitable listener than a kal'dorei stranger. So for now, he'll be a cat.]

[She watched him warily as he came closer; she supposed she wouldn’t be opposed to some company right now. She likes cats, cats are nice companions (much more preferable than dogs, but that’s just her). It’s probably their moodiness she likes, she relates to them on a more personable than the generally over-affectionate dog.

She is a bit surprised that he came within arms reach of her, but she has no intention of hurting him, and he didn’t seem as if he had any nasty ideas in his head. She doesn’t let her guard down though, that was simply foolish; nor does she unmask herself.]

I guess it doesn’t make a difference, really. If there’s someone out here with me, that is. [She feels silly talking to someone that can’t (wont?) respond.] I never thought that I would actually want to go home, that I would want to go back…but…[She frowns here and quiets, looking irritated.]

[She frowns, fumbling in her pack for the muffled voice. Damn, she'd forgotten those Hearthstone's could DO that. How unbelievable frustrating.]

How am I supposed to do that stuck here, hmm? Do you like it here? [Her voice was snappy, she hadn't meant to be heard at all.]

And there's nothing wrong with my profession and status, thanks. I'm good at what I do.
