Crafty question

I changed my 84 dranei pally's crafting prof from engineering to jewelcrafting and I was wondering if it's worth putting the time into the Dalaran dailies for the tokens to get the recipes? Or should I focus on getting her JC level up so she can do the Cata gem dailies? Or do both?

professions: jewelcrafting

i'd say go ahead and level up and then do the cata gem dailies and not worry about the dalaran cuts. they're pretty much useless at this point.

unless of course you want the complete set of recipes. :D

If you want to make gold, I say get the Dal cuts. I'm twinking out a shaman, and was amazed at the complete lack of Wrath-level gems available, even with spamming in trade (and I'm on a medium-high pop server). I eventually waited for a friend who I knew had Wrath cuts, but my leveling partner paid 300g a pop for cut gems from the AH. :|

If you don't want to learn the cuts for some strange reason, do the Dalaran JC quests anyway and buy dragons eye (or whatever that special) gem is called and list them on AH for decent coin!

I would do the dailies for both, definitely.

The Dalaran gems (both epic and the more affordable blues; I've even made decent money buying uncommon Bloodstones when they're cheap, cutting them, and selling them) sell reasonably well; they're more of a niche market, but you also have less competition. I'd pick up the big three red cuts-- str, int, and agi-- as well as the stamina cut for tanks. 70 PvP twinks might also buy the resilience and/or spell pen cuts, which I -think- you buy with honor from a Wintergrasp vendor... I could be wrong ( ... )
