WoW Themed Christmas Presents

Dec 22, 2010 13:42

So I have this really tight-knit group of real-life guy friends. They got me into the game two years ago this Christmas, and have kept me motivated ever since. Naturally, birthdays/Christmas/gifty-occasions around here tend to be pretty WoW-heavy. Last year, I screen-printed t-shirts for most of them with their main's class symbol. I silk-screened/embroidered faction hoodies for my two best friends.

This year I wanted to make something that wasn't clothes, and I figured I'd share what I came up with. =)

I put together four WoW-themed gamer survival kits, customised to the faction of choice for each of them. It took many, many hours, but I'm SUPER thrilled with the result. I can't wait to give them to the guys.

I painted four wooden treasure-chest boxes (they're actually kind of huge). I'm going to put a tag on it that says 'Right Click To Open'.

The contents of the alliance boxes, nestled in gold tinsel.

The horde contents, in red tinsel!

Instead of Christmas cards, I tea-stained scrolls and sealed them with wax. Each scroll says essentially the same thing (plus a personal message) :

"I present to you the ultimate World of Warcraft gamer survival kit, which includes:

1 health potion - full of caffeine and sugar for instant fuel
1 hearthstone soap - to return home and shower
1 bag of beef jerky - because sometimes every gamer needs quick, effortless food.
1 bag of gold coins - the tastiest currency EVER.

Have a Happy Winterveil!"

The healing potions are actually re-labeled Holiday Coca Cola.

( I can't be the only one who saw these and instantly thought "ooh! Potions!" can I?)

Hand-made Hearthstone glycerin soaps! The label on the back says:

Binds when picked up
Unique
Item Level 1
Use: Returns you to .
Use: +10 to personal hygeine.

Re-packaged beef jerky.

Draw-string coin pouches. I sewed them myself and embroidered them with faction crests. =)

Full of chocolate coins! They're tasty too, I made sure I got the good ones, not the gross waxy ones.

Every piece is tagged with real item info. =)

So what about you ladies? Any WoW-themed gifts planned?
