The Healing of Two Tanks

Have any of you Ladies noticed differences in healing-needed for different tank classes?

I was talking with my favorite Healer last night...
There's something she'd noticed about the difference between healing my Bear butt, and our Prot Paladin. Apparently i'm significantly easier to heal than our Pally friend. And neither of us can figure out why. If it were a minor difference i'd shrug it off, but she says it's a huge difference. Massive, even.

It's driving my Healer and myself nuts that we can't figure out exactly why the Paladin takes so much more damage than I do. The guy isn't a bad tank. He doesn't Stand in Stupid. He knows his stat priorities. Hell, he's even got two different Tank specs for AoE threat and Single-Target threat. He's done his research.

Gear-wise, we're about equal. A couple of points in average item level shouldn't make a difference.

Relevant Stats...he's got 40% Block, 8.9% Parry, 11.6% Dodge, 33K Armor, and 15.5 Mastery. So far as we can tell, this is on par with other Tankadins at this gear level.
I've got 15.2 Mastery...and I'm not positive about the rest, 'cause I can't login right now to shift and check...but my Dodge (if I remember right) was somewhere in the neighborhood of +25%, and Armor was +30K. (In Elf form, it's 16.7% Dodge and 10K Armor...but i'm not sure how to calculate how it'd increase when Bear.)
He's got a little more HP than I do. Or he did before I got some upgrades (didn't check if those ups put me higher HP than him). But there's not a big difference in Health between us.

So far as our Talents go, I can't spot anything obvious "missing" from his specs. And I know mine's good (research...I love it).
This appears to be his Single-Target Threat spec, and this is his AoE Threat Spec.
My own spec is fairly standard for 85 Bear.

And thus, there isn't an obvious reason why i'd be so much easier to heal than our Tankadin. We both appear to be doing what we should be doing.

The working theory we've got is that Mastery comes into it...his Mastery gives him Block. My Mastery goes towards Savage Defender, which increases the amount of damage Savage Defense absorbs. And I've noticed my Savage Defense stays up a decent amount of the time.
Could that be why virtually equally geared tanks of two different classes are considerably different to heal?

We've yet to run with DK or Warrior tanks, so we've no idea how the healing of those two classes fall in the damage-taken department.
Anyone have any ideas or random thoughts? Relevant tales to share?
