So, it's only been, what, 6 months? Maybe 7. Not much to report, though the job prospects have certainly come along all at once. Anyway, quick rundown:
Work life:
Still at meh-place trying to get new work. Hoping ODU contacts me back quickly, as there's another group courting me (maybe). Weird thing is, they found me via Monster. I didn't think that EVER happened. And waiting for Northrop Grumman.. Long. It's more my default, didn't-find-anything-else choice. :\ Though, it's only a frowny face because I'd have to go live in Newport News, as I would like to live at home and be bullet-free.
Still, the other place is offering a good deal so far. I'd think ODU is better for the conveniences, and the pay is equivalent. And being on campus again would make me content, I think. Much better environment than where I am now. More life, less death and decay. So here's to hoping they take me before Monster-born job makes their final decision.
Social/Gaming:
Had a gaming group go up and down in about the time I've been away from LJ. Shadowrun, and a decent effort at it. I actually find the newest edition preferrable, if only for the ease of creation and actually being able to be well rounded.
D&D 4th? Yeah, been poking at that, too. It's not so vile, once you get into it with a proper GM. I suppose my most major grumpy about it is the "whoopsfuck, your dice say you lose one of your only decent combat abilities for combat/today". Having no way to recover those to shitty die luck (which I have) is annoying as all. Other than that, Friday nights are full of squee.
Still in on WoW, though after last night, reconsidering a two-month absence or so, as there's no point after max level, which means there's no point in leveling. Very existential, actually.
FF13? Not as epic as advertised, sadly. They blew their storyline wad too early, and the combat system is flashy, but aggravating. Mix P3's "oh no your hero died" with only using 3 of 6 party members, though that course is tactically unfeasible? It's a recipe for Meh.
I want tabletop back. Wah.
That's about it, I suppose. More on the job front as it develops. Fingers crossed, kids.
