I am back at work, after my four days at Chabaneix and five days in the Cerdagne. The week in the mountains was cooler than it would have been in the Lot, with a cool breeze and the possibility of staying in the flat during the hottest part of the day.
I managed some walking in the morning and I saw some flowers even if I didn’t have the success that I do when I have JC with me.
I came home on Monday, and was relieved to find that most of my plants had survived, but sad to find that Heathcliff, who went missing a week ago, has not turned up.
Meanwhile at work one person has gone off sick and another has gone to sort out family issues following the death of her father... and somehow we are now seriously understaffed. I had to work a late shift followed by an early, and tomorrow we are only two when we should be five members of staff, and one of us will have to put in five hours of overtime to cover a patient having an IRM scan.
I always hate having to leave Marco longer than the eight hours of my shift, and already I was back later today due to visiting a friend who has been hospitalized in the locked ward...this meant that he had chewed two cardboard boxes, a toilet brush and the corner of the coffee table. I also need to keep seeing my friend who is in a very bad way...and I then noticed that Marco has a huge flea infestation, which was very sudden because I didn’t see them before. He has now been treated with a horrible insecticide because I am not sure what is a good way to deal with fleas, and he was going crazy with the itching in this unbearable heat.
So the long and short of it is I don’t know how to sort out tomorrow if I am to do the best for everyone and meantime I am praying for the weather to break and then we can have a decent thunderstorm and get a decent nights sleep.
I am not adding photos for now... I have put some on Instagram and the rest seen a bit random to my heat fuddled brain.
