so ive been super busy with finals and getting shit here packed and havent been able to make a post from my last weekend yet... so this will be a belated entry.
today was my last day in italy. tomorrow i have to wake up bright and early to catch a train to an airport in rome to go to sweden! i'm really excited.
so anyways back to the belatedness of this. the planned trip was paris-lille-london...
----------
i showed up to the airport an hour late to check-in because that was the only time i could get a train to treviso, a tiny town with an airport outside of venice, the lady at the desk was kinda pissed at me for being late, but its ok, because, as this photo shows, my plane was delayed for 4 hours. it was no fun
other people not having fun
this british stuartist got all british-pissed at me for taking pictures of her and made me delete them from my camera. obviously i deleted them.
look at that
we have these trucks all over florence but no one really paints them, so this was kind of nice to see.
i only stayed in paris for half of the day, long enough to wander around and eat an amazing baguette. i guess they dont call it french bread for nothing...
i caught a train to lille, which is in the north of france. when i got there i met up with remed who i ended up staying with for most of the weekend. many great times were found.
him, his friend from madrid, and a bunch of other graffiti artists were having an expo at some swanky gallery in the park that weekend. this is hanging out and setting up.
this was a pretty dope painting by 'shykid', its from a photo from the book 'the art of getting over'
crazy garden outside the gallery
the night of the expo. remed and 3ttman did this live painting. the expo was a little weird for me as i dont know any french, and, as art shows are it was a really social event. so there were many times where i would awkwardly wander somewhere and fidget with my camera or something
rockin' the restroom! (some club where our friends mom was djing. yes, his mom is a dj)
remed's apartment. that painting on the wall was completely awesome. he was a really great guy, many heart to heart conversations and inspirations.
luik aka dj edsick's apartment. that mini organ made me completely jealous
in the hotel 'coq hardi' for the last night in lille because the cheapest ticket i could find in london was monday morning at 8am, 2 days after i was actually planning to leave lille. otherwise it would have been 187 euros... easter weekend.
london bridge. when i got to london i wasnt sure where to go, so i picked out the most familiar sounding tube stop on the map. this is what it was
i was so pooped from traveling and late nights in france that i didnt really do much in london. i got ahold of my friend lauren who is studying abroad there and we took it easy; hung out, watched some tv, and then went to this huge park and chased alot of birds
later that night i realized i should figure out my flight in the morning. i was planning on sleeping there and then bouncing really early, but when i double checked my flight info it turned out the flight was at 6:30 am from stansted, an airport thats like 1hr40 outside of london... i had to be there to check in 2 hours early. so, i basically had to be out of the apartment and headed towards the airport by 2:30. no sleep that night.
london looks like new york, but what city doesnt these days. waiting in the shuttle bus, last shot of london
now it is over a week later, i totally fucked up my final exams, but its ok because thats all over now, i have sweden tomorrow and then a very promising summer ahead.
next post from sweden (actually thats a lie, and this post is going to be published from sweden, but its ok because i am here writing it in my bed in italy.)
(yes, i am now in stockholm, i arrived last night. it is fucking amazing, i should have just came here rather than italy. jeeez. new swedish update to come)
