ahhh Nietzsche
I almost skipped class today because it was such a nice day out, and it was the woodsides BBQ tonight, but instead I dragged my lazy ass there. and, while it's no surprise that I learned something there (I always learn in that class), I was surprised with the knowledge that I came away with. I have to read The Will To Power by Nietzsche for my Dissent and the Political Community class. In my Statesmen and Tyrants class (the one I had tonight) I had to read Beyond Good & Evil (also by Nietzsche). Now, in my dissent class we've been reading Nietzsche for a little over a week now. I understand nothing of it, and the teacher doesn't explain it at all. In fact, I haven't gotten anything from his lectures in 2 weeks now, I have no IDEA what he's babbeling about, only that it will not help me write the stupid paper that he has assigned for next week. So I went to my Statemen and Tyrants class expecting to be bored and wishing I were outside, but instead, I learned SO much about Nietzsche that I didn't even look at my cell phone (clock) for almost 2 hours! Now, this is especially amazing because I usually start looking at my watch about 20 min. into a class. I was SO enthralled by Nietzsche that I didn't want class to end. I FINALLY understand! It was amazing! and to think I almost skipped, that would have been HORRIBLE, really...
anywhoo, other than that, life is, ah, hectic... 4 papers due next week, 2 the week after that then finals and final papers. I'm also trying to find a job for the summer as well as get a job at the Haven and Hannah House working with underprivilaged, pregnant and troubled teens. In the home stretch, can't WAIT for summer, but for the first time in my life, I think it will come WAY too soon for my liking...
oh yeah, I found out that I'm a magnanimous man (according to Nietzsche). For going to class today, for staying at school this weekend (and next) and for punishing myself and making myself sit at my desk all weekend doing homework/writing papers. who knew somebody so confusing could be so cool!
