Okay, so I had a bit of a scare last night. I'm also typing partially one-handed because of it. I was happily asleep on my crate next to the building, when I was woken up by a scraping noise. Just a slight one, but it was enough. I was already propped against the wall hugging Igor, so I just stared really hard into the darkness. When my eyes adjusted I could see a pair of glowing eyes staring at me. Hello panic attack, how I didn't miss you. I jumped to the ground...and threw Igor at it. -_-; I got a yowl in response, and watched amazed as a friggin' cat shot away from me and behind a few empty boxes. A cat. Me, being the supposed animal magnet that I am, went over and knelt in front of the boxes, trying to get the poor thing to come out. No dice, it just hissed at me a lot. After a few minutes of that I'd had enough, and decided to pick it up. Oh yes, I know that was stupid. My hands closed around the cat's middle, and it jerked like an electric current had just gone through it. Hissing, yowling, and probably cussing me out in Catese, it clawed my left hand with it's back legs and dashed out of the alley.
So, then I'm in pain, bleeding, and yelling vengeance threats after a terrified cat. Go me.
I got a better look at the wounds once the sun came up. It's not so bad; just a few not-too-deep scratches on the webbing between my thumb and forefinger. When I went into work this morning, Mr. Kellogg had a small fit and helped me clean and bandage it. It'd be ironic to survive Heartless only to die of an infected cat scratch, wouldn't it? I've really got to start sleeping indoors.
How's everyone else? It's so...normal here right now. You watch, soon enough I'll be complaining that it's not normal enough.
EDIT: Thanks to
hyperpsyche for suggesting a hostel. I'm now officially off the street. ^__^ An actual bed is such a nice thing. There's a kitchen here I can use, and free wireless, not that charges seem to apply anymore. I'm sharing a dorm with three other people, which'll take a little getting used to. I don't trust people that easily. I can stay here up to three weeks; after that, we'll see. I guess it depends on when the little Buggers of Doom show up.
I miss my cats. And my parents. Even my brother, egotistical pest that he is.
