Poetry-Earth's Filter

Mar 27, 2010 17:46

I feel like I must set aside whatever I'm going through to help everyone else. They always seem like they are in worse shape than me. If I could take away everyone's pain, then they could always be happy. This poem probably isn't good at all, but I hope you guys like it.

I was hanging over a cliff and you dropped the rope
Bloodstained and left without any hope
Heard the cries of the helpless, filling my mind
Knowing now that you've never been divine
Can't lose my life now, still have to try
Others counting on me, need not to see me cry
I won't burden others with the problems of the useless
They have suffered too much, so much more than I
I might have been hit by a car, but a bus crushed them
My tough times bad, but they can't even see light
Pushing away my sorrows and pain, YOU have more to gain
Mustn't let someone down who is in need, setting aside everything
Be not ashamed of your life dear friends, you've done no wrong
Your pain I bring into myself so that you may heal
Filtering out the negative and making it positive
Can't let anyone else suffer the sorrows of the world
Must remain the filter of the Earth so that others may be happy
Asking you to find peace now and leave your pain here
I can take care of it, I've done so many times before
The negative residue still stays within me
Sent most of it away, but some will forever stay
But it's worth it if I can make this world a better place
