"whoa - whoa - whoa - whoa - whoa - whoa - whoa - whoa - whoa - whoa"

the late sir kingsley amis has some sage advice (to go w/the onions) - he's talking abt xmas but it seems to me it could be just as useful for birthdays or any other celebration ( - or for everyday "life" ) - anyway, here:

"Talking of which I have something which makes it all bearable, the presents, the in-laws, other people's children, your own children, the games, the noise, the mess, the ridiculous meals. It consists of one part french cooking brandy, one part irish whiskey and four parts fresh milk. The hard part is remembering to have put milk instead of water into one of your ice cube trays the previous night. Drink the mixture immediately on rising, while the others are having breakfast or throwing up behind the snowman." - Written for a charity publication, 1985.

( - praps surprisingly he lived for ten more yrs after he wrote this )

christmas, kingsley amis, boozing, sounds of the sixties
