ITEM! proof that i get too many gomics and not enuff proper books out of the library yesterday as i collected my order: as well as 3 (count 'em, 3!) punisher tpbs by g.ennis ( - don't worry gentle readers, i'm not planning to review 'em ) i also gollected one book of lit crit, "the novels of anthony powell" by james tucker and the (to be fair, v.helpful & friendly) library assistant queried the latter - "are you sure this is the one you wanted...?" ( - she's used to seeing me just get the gomics, you see )

( - it was, i'm a bit obsessed with anthony powell's a dance to the music of time "sequence" of 12 books )

in my library "personal details" i notice i'm categorised as "adult dyslexic" (which i don't think i actually am), presumably cos i borrow too many gomics - or maybe they've been reading this livejournal! ( - o, if only my "fame" had spread as far as the library )

btw, i don't really want to read 3 punisher "graphic novels" (ie big comics/collections of floppies) in quick succession but sometimes that's the way the cookie grumbles when you put an order in - i asked for one of 'em abt six months ago and then when it didn't come for ages i thort i might as well put in for a gouple more, thinking they'd slowly drift in - and then like buses etc

ITEM! footballer "themed" grisps: along the lines of salt & lineker, cheese & owen and smokey beckham - when vennegoor of hesselink joined celtic i was hoping they'd bring out "salt & vennegoor of hesselink" flavour grisps but ever nothing came of it

ITEM! "actress & columnist" clemency burton-hill was one of the guests on question time last nite - who the hale & pace is she &/or what has she done to land such a prestigious gig? (clemency = a goob name, were her parents quakers? )  ( - must admit, i thort
t_guy might be an admirer )

ITEM! spotted nina persson of the cardigans on telly dueting w/the manic street preachers: nice lady, bad perm ( - also it doesn't really sound like her on the record, so what's the point? )

ITEM! one for the jack kirby fans - in the 1963 film the VIPs (a slowish richard burton & elizabeth taylor vehicle stuffed full of great british character actors) orson welles plays a character called mister buda

ITEM! i notice death wish V is on the "sky movies - modern greats" channel tonite ( o, don't mind me - i'm just jealous 'cos we don't get sky )

nina persson, library, anthony powell, orson welles, crisps, jack kirby, carla bozulich
