I don't have TV right now. I have A TV, I don't have service. This is because, when I was having trouble with a few channels on Sunday, I called DirecTV and they said, "do these things." And I did them, and then I had no television service at all. As in, don't get past the boot up menu, do not pass go, do not even catch up on your DVR'd programs. And I said, "but this is unpleasant, did you know this might be a consequence?" And DirecTV said, "we did know this thing. But we are not told to share this information."
And then they said, "which weekday would you like our technician to come out between 8 am and 4 pm?" And I said, "as I am employed, I would like a tech at 6 pm." And DirecTV said, okay, Saturday then. Fortunately, my semi-retired mother has offered to sit in my house Wednesday morning, so that maybe I can watch some basketball.
Because I can't even get the converter/antenna combination to work in my home in the middle of a major metropolitan area. Oh, did you want ABC? Well, we gave that frequency to the internets, too bad. Here, how about you watch EIGHTYTEEN HOURS OF GOLF AND OLD PEOPLE NAVY DETECTIVE DRAMAS ON CBS, AS THAT'S THE ONLY CHANNEL YOU GET WITH YOUR $100 CONVERTER SETUP.
So right now I'm reading a Celtics-Cavs live blog. O, I am struck low.
And so I have not received an email asking me to rate my experience with my DirecTV service call, and probably will not. I think they can choose when to send those.
So I'm without TV. Does anyone remember, a few years ago when I was reading the Artist's Way and there was a week when I couldn't read? I would say this is worse, but I think that's only because I'm experiencing this right now.
In exciting news, I had my first webcam chat EVER today. Actually, but the first doesn't count because it was for work. It was a fun five minutes. I will withhold the name of the other webcammer in case she for some reason wants privacy.
A live blog of two teams I hope both lose. Maybe it'll happen!
I love you, television.
