If you are interested in finding new ways to explore, check out CultureZest.org.
It's a new, non-profit, 100% free site where all you need to do is type in the zip code, city, or state that you would love to explore. It can be a brand new adventure for you whether you are on a trip, or feeling adventurous enough to see sides of your own city you never knew existed (or have already been curious about).
You can search for homestays, restaurant meetups, independent tours, independent lessons, or even a volunteer opportunity. You can even post an offering of your own services. I have a few posts on there myself, so if anyone's looking in the NYC area... well you just might stumble upon one of my events.
