This might seem like a stupid question for all of you hardcore travelers out there, but bare with me!
I'm a 21 one year old American student studying in the UK with plans to travel through Central Europe in April. I have to be in Prague on April 8th but am currently looking for somewhere to hit beforehand. I'll be hitting Krakow, Slovakia (might make a short stop in Bratislava), Budapest, and Vienna afterwards so those are all out. I have found cheapish flights to Berlin and it's not too expensive to take a train between Berlin and Prague.
How easy is Berlin to do alone as a slightly traumatized female who only speaks English and Spanish?
Can anyone recommend any good, safe, affordable, friendly hostels near the center? Or any daytrips out of town geared toward the younger set? What things should I see in about 3 days there?
I know logically that this *shouldn't* be a big deal and that Berlin is a very doable city for an independent traveler, but I had a very traumatizing experience while living in Mexico in November which forced me to leave and have been rather agoraphobic since. I want to overcome it though, and while ideally I would do this in Spain (where I speak the language and am comfy with the culture) but flights are too expensive. I just need reassurance and help planning!
Cross posted so sorry if this ends up spamming your flist.
