Recently I've considered moving to Canada with a couple of friends for a year or so, however I've got a few concerns about my situation and whether I would be able to sustain myself during that period. Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.
So the basics of my current situation; I'm just about to turn 20, I live in a flat in Glasgow with my friend, I have a full time customer service job which pays rent/bills and supports a fairly healthy social life etc. I haven't been to uni yet (cos I dunno what I want to do!) so no degree or anything.
Now I'm mostly worried about my age, and lack of degree/uni qualification. How likely am I to be able to have a healthy (drinking) social life over there if I'm only 20? And how likely will I be able to find a job that's going to pay for all the necessities like rent/hotel bills/travelling etc? Also, I've heard that money goes A LOT further in Canada, in fact, I've been told that for the amount of money I pay for a two bedroom flat in Glasgow, I could get a decent sized house in Canada. Is it true that it's much easier to sustain yourself over there? Are there any kind of tourist/travelling schemes that will help me get about/meet people, but give me my own freedom? Also, this is fairly trivial, but my friends and I generally smoke quite a bit of cannabis, how easy is this to get in such a place? What's the consequence if you're discovered in possession with it? etc.
Seriously ANY information would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Stuart
