I spend Friday morning helping my dad on the farm, moving concrete wall sections and burning bits of the barn. I was somewhat disturbed that he had no plans to save any of the massive number of nails which held the structure together. He returned me to my apartment in the afternoon and I went to martial arts. It was the "Youth/Adult" class, which wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I'm not fond of kids.
One of the exercise I found rather pointless. It was the self-defense against a front bear hug. The attacker is pretty much asking for a knee to the crotch. I also took a crack to the head during another exercise, which is still sore.
Anyway, I returned home and showered, then called a friend of mine. We talked a bit, and put off hanging out until Saturday. I don't remember what I did the rest of the night.
Saturday morning I woke up early, talked with Christie (not Christy, for those of you who know who she is), and made baked goods of gratitude. Then I went to capoeira. The head instructor had one of the girls take me and a new kid through basic drills. His posture was bad, he kept mixing up sides and often seemed like he was about to quit. I'd not put money on him keeping with it, but I could be wrong. My legs aren't near as sore as they were after the last time.
I returned to the apartment, showered, shaved, then called the friend from the previous day. I mucked about online, washed dishes, picked up my room, read, wrote some, called a couple of other friends and finally started looking for a ride to
tandu's party. First I called someone who hadn't been invited... oops. Then I called the only other person whom I knew was going but for whom I wasn't at all on the way to pick up. (Yes,
quincidence, I know that you didn't mind). We went and there was much intellectual discussion. I really enjoyed it. For some reason I thought that
tandu would be interested in the edda I'm writing, and he said that he would be. It should be done in a few days. I got a ride home with the same people who gave me a ride from the last
tandu-party that I attended, and went to sleep as I was tired. Apparently I was missed at Inferno. I should be there next week, possibly still in zombie make-up
Which didn't help me sleep any. I had trouble getting to sleep and staying that way, and ended up waking up at seven in the morning. I muddled around for a while, called a friend, and went to the stock pavilion. I did not do well shooting from greater than 20 yards. I currently have three working arrows, having broken four and probably three of those are unsalvagable. The I went out to Panera with Peter,
splott and her boy. Snuggles and conversation are good, however I'm wonder what people who saw the former think is going on. I'm unused to public snuggling.
I made a celiac-friendly treat for
quincidence and then went to her birthday get-together. That was fun, lots of talking. Eventually I got kind of tired and went home to sleep.
For some reason I really like the following lines:
"We tell them lies, we do sometimes,
we live and die for friends like these.
When all is said,
we turn instead,
and give our lives for what's inside."
Today I plan to made dinner and write!
