I never thought that I'd be fretting in October about where I'll be living next May. I'd like to go for a house, but there are a few things that worry me. High monthly prices, payment frequency, the time that the lease begins, and wishy washy potential rent mates. But given certain cirumstances, that last one's not all that big of a deal. Just a bit stressful to me.
So far I've had to say that the lowest I've seen for a 3 bedroom house is like $850. And that's not even a house. That's a friggin duplex. And on top of that, the dwelling in question is about a 20-30 minute walk from MSU campus. And then once on campus, it could be from 3-30 minutes to walk to classes. The closer the location, the higher the price. That also goes for the quality of the place too...obviously.
Now about payment frequency. I could probably swing the monthly thing. But so far I've seen at least 2 or 3 different rentors that they do it per semester. So that would mean one very large check every 4 or so months. And based on a projected average price of about $1200 per month, that would be about 4800 big ones. Now I just don't think my pocketbook can handle that type of trauma.
Timing. Timing is absolute shit folks. My lease ends May 2005. There are a lot of places that would be starting the leasing period August 2005. So there's a nice 3 month gap in there. And 3 months could be quite a long time to live out of a car...
I won't go into the other potential cool guys. Because I don't want to piss anyone off and all that good stuff. So that's that.
So my search will continue...but for now, check out my website. I put it together for a class. And as soon as I get a grade on it, it's getting a facelift. Until then, enjoy it's splendor!!!! It's at www.msu.edu/~workmana
