A/N: Whoa, it's been ages since I last updated here. Anyway, this was inspired by the translation of
this article that was translated by
murasaki_five and I got thinking about writing introspective fics for each of the members. All the fics are in second person POV, and my writing skills are probably a bit rusty, so please excuse the rustiness of all <3 Oh, by the way, some of the stuff that is included within the series are events that actually happened, while other things are just made up. Enjoy.
When Subaru appears outside the hotel room door with his eyes to the ground, and you notice his bare feet and clenched fists and shaking shoulders, you step aside without a word and let him walk in soundlessly.
When he sits listlessly on the bed and his eyes stare straight at the curtains, unseeing, you grab the spare blanket and wrap it around his shoulders gently, then pour a hot cup of tea and place it near the dresser before sitting down next to him.
For 5 minutes, both of you sit like that, and then suddenly Subaru starts shaking uncontrollably and the tears start leaking out from his eyes, salty rivulets running down his cheeks, you reach out and hug him, speaking soft nonsense as his hands dig into your sweatshirt and you run your hands down his back soothingly.
Yoko comes into the room, and you crane your head around slightly to look - the rest of Eight sans Uchi are right behind him - and he is about to open his mouth to speak, but when he sees you and Subaru there, he smiles slightly, and lets the others in too (because really, Shota has been all over the hotel looking for his room mate after Subaru failed to return 2 hours after he said “I’m going to look at the stars outside for a bit” quite abruptly before rushing out the door without his cell phone).
The bed dips as the rest of them pile on wordlessly and you wonder if the springs are going to break with all of your combined weights because it sure is making a hell lot of noise. Hands are all over the place and it’s almost like some kind of mutated group hug (and Tadayoshi’s hair is in your face and it itches and you think you’re about to slide off the edge of the bed very soon if Maru keeps leaning on your side like that) but somehow it feels right even if it is too crowded and all that.
When you hear sniffling near your ear it’s Tadayoshi who has tears in his eyes now, and Ryo’s hitting his arm, but his eyes are pretty damn red too. And when both of their sniffles increase you smile good-naturedly and roll your eyes as you exchange a glance with Yoko over Subaru’s head.
All six of them end up staying over in the room that night in various sprawls on the carpeting and a few of them are snoring too. (Some of them are going to wake up with sore necks and aching backs tomorrow.)
Maybe it’s weird, this kind of member-ai you have with them.
But you wouldn’t have it any other way.
