Not sure if anyone reads this... not sure I even care... this really has turned into just me updating for memories for myself since I can't remember shit.
Steve came home November 8th, he surprised me and caught an earlier flight out of Atlanta and took a cab home... he came home 6 hours before I was supposed to be picking him up from the airport. It was a really nice surprise. We spent a lot of quality time together while he was home, had a party at the house which was a lot of fun, and my parents had a family get together for him the next day which was also nice. He just caught up with old friends, and we just relaxed. During that time, we switched over to Verizon and got Droid phones which are pretty awesome. We also checked out that new casino in Battle Creek... it's nice.
I also got a bunch of work done on my car... my warranty is about to run out, so I took it to Todd Wenzel to get some shit done, they ended up finding a few problems so they had it for a few days... they ended up doing about $2,000 worth of work, but I only paid $55 for it. Badass.
Steve left on the 24th at 6:30am. We pulled an all-nighter and just hung out, got packed up and everything. My mom came to GR to go to the airport, which was nice to have her there. I'm still waiting to hear from him to make sure he made it to Taji. I'm getting a little worried because he messaged me this morning around 8 saying he was in BIAP waiting for a flight... and Baghdad is only an hour or so from Taji. I'm assuming that he got back to his pod and went straight to sleep. So hopefully I'll hear from him soon.
It was really hard to say goodbye as usual. I feel like life is kind of shit right now. The friends that I considered to be "good friends" aren't really anything to me anymore... Angie is my closest friend and I don't see her that much, I have a little too much time to myself to think about things and I just feel really alone. I just can't wait until Steve comes home for good... our relationship is so strong it's just hard to be separated. However, I'm back at work now and hours will be insane, so my mind will be off that shit for awhile. He's coming home in less than 5 months too, which I know that will go by fast. It's just that this part sucks. It is nice to know what to expect once he gets back to Iraq though. Last time we had no idea... and I know now that he has internet and access to Skype so we can still talk to each other.
Oh yeah, it was my birthday too. Didn't really do much, Steve won't let me drink because he thinks I'm pregnant. We just visited my family and did dinner with them. No reason to make a big deal out of turning 24.
Tyler graduated Basic Training on the 20th, we didn't get to go see his graduation like we were hoping... but he's coming home in less than a month, so I'll get to see him soon. I can't wait, I definitely missed my little bro.
Thanksgiving was nice, got to see family that I don't see very often.
Home now, have to work 12-11 tomorrow... /wrists
At least I don't open, I'd have to be there at 4am if I did... fuck that...
