poem of the day

It's already the 3rd, so I'm not likely to make a poem a day during April, but I'm going to give it my best shot. Here's today's offering:

The future arrived
in a box today
cardboard packed with dreams
compressed into seeds,
rattling packets
of peas, cucumbers,
beets, radishes, beans,
and whatever else
I ordered last month.

Sauntering slowly
