I made it in to work on time yesterday. This is getting to be more and more difficult as my last day draws nearer. I would really just like to not show up for the next two weeks, but I'm pretty sure I'd miss the paychecks. Work, predictably, let me down with its continued insistence on being frightfully dull.

Sci Fi's site isn't at all helpful, and apparently I can't do Google searches on things like "Battlestar Galactica Season 3 reruns" without running into about half a dozen major spoilers, so... does anybody know whether SF plans to rerun the latest Season of BSG any time soon?

Went to visit my mom in Corbin, KY, birthplace of Kentucky Fried Chicken, for a few days last week.  A picture post is forthcoming.

I made it about ten minutes into Bush's 2007 State of the Union Address (right about as he was passive-aggressively accusing Congress of sneaking pet projects into their bills) before I muted it and watched this mildly amusing music video.

Books:

Best American Travel Writing 2006 - I love the "Best American" anthology series, but this is the first time I've read the one on travel writing.  Highly recommended.  There are one or two duds in here (including PJ O'Rourke's overly facetious report on the world's largest passenger plane) but that still leaves 18 or 19 good ones.  My ( Read more... )

Val came over last night, and he, Trelina, and I sat down for a mini-marathon of Heroes - watching the last two episodes off the DVR before diving into the fall finale. I'm not going to do another exhaustive recap of the episode, but I do have some thoughts on the series thus far:
