For those of you who tried to help me out with
my mining question (thanks, sis!)... I think I've got it figured out.
(I didn't make it clear in the post, but the question was for a story. I don't have a mountain in my back yard. I do have a tree though. Sometimes there are berries on the tree, but never silver.)

Speaking of the last post, I was discussing it with
trelina after she checked her LJ last night. The conversation went something like this:
T: There are professional surveyors who do that sort of thing.
R: Oh?
T: Yeah, the owner would have to hire a specialist to study the site, and they could tell them if there was any silver in there.
R: Well, it's sort of being done on the sly in my story. The person trying to figure out whether there's silver doesn't actually own the place yet. It's a secret.
T: That guy would still have to hire a surveyor.
R: A super-secret surveyor?
T: Absolutely.
I love how she plays along with me.

Thank god Donald Trump wasn't my boss when I was a teenager. I'd have been in and out of rehab every other week.
And I was a good kid. I knew people that would have been paying monthly rates at Betty Ford.
Aside from a vague feeling of pity for Miss Teen USA, I can't quite express in words how happy I am that, when Rosie O'Donnell called Donald out for being an overzealous, holier-than-thou prick, he basically shot back with, "You're fat and stupid, Rosie! And I'm gonna sue!"
America has the best famous people. Hands down.

ABC has announced that they're canceling Taye Diggs' "Day Break". It wasn't perfect TV, but I was enjoying the mystery aspects of it quite a bit. It wasn't just Groundhog Day the Series.
Apparently, they're going to keep airing the episodes on the
Day Break website (same as they've been doing with "Heroes") but I doubt they'll post all 13 of them. If they did that, they couldn't sell the inevitable DVD set.

Brian K. Vaughan, writer of Good Comics like Y the Last Man, Ex Machina, and Runaways, has been recruited onto the writing staff of "Lost". They just gave me another reason to watch the show.
Though it makes me nervous that Hollywood is now going after the good writers in comics. We didn't mind when you were borrowing Jeph Loeb, guys, but we'd better get Vaughan back without any scratches on him.
