12/4-Chelsea and I went to go see Tough Cookies VS The Swarm in the
LA Derby Doll Championships. Cookies got the threepeat!
12/5-Thanksgiving III at Ange's house! Otherwise just working hard and finishing up my first episode of my new show.
12/11-Chelsea and I had our 16 monthiversary. We went to a going-away party at
Rockwell for Chelsea's friend who got transferred to London for three years for work! Very exciting. More hard working getting episode five all ready. There was some sort of issue hiring an editor and they never found one...so they let me do it! I'm getting editor credit on this show, which is great news.
12/18-The night of a million birthday parties. Chelsea and I went to three birthday parties this night. The first was a Pirates VS Ninjas themed scavenger hunt around Santa Monica. We dressed up and made an appearance before the hunt started (In the pouring rain!). Next was Anne Braveman's 30th birthday blowout with the
Kogi Truck, a table of candy to put together your own goodie bags, and a photo booth!
And finally, an intimate gathering at Anne Faucher's for her 40th. Chelsea finally got to meet many of my favorite coworker friends! She really hit it off with Russ's wife and everybody loved her sense of humor.
12/20-I officially started editing!
12/21-BB's third birfday! We went to see
Tangled in 3D, and we all loved it.
12/22-Last day at work before break. After 8 days of rain, just a moment of sunshine.
And then we were off to Seattle to spend Christmas with my brother Andy and his family and our mom...
12/23-Had to get an early start!
This is the first time I've brought a girl to my family Christmas, the first time Chelsea was meeting my brother and his family, her first time away from her family for Christmas and her first time in Seattle. She found us an awesome
boutique hotel in U District, which we explored until Andy got off work and then we went over to meet them and have the first in a long series of great meals in Seattle.
12/24-Chrimas Eve! Poor Wheatie had a hard holiday this year, all coned up. (She was attacked by a pit bull).
Christmas Eve dinner at Angie's parents' place. Delicious and fun!
Ally gave us a tour of her cardboard house.
Then Ally got to open some presents from grandma and grandpa a little early. This vacuum cleaner toy was a huge hit!
And so was this huge doll house.
And Inga the sock monkey.
Yay! Angie is due to have another girl in the spring.
Bouncing on Susu's air mattress!
For some reason one of Ally's favorite games is to pretend to go to bed. Actually going to bed however is a nightly tragedy in three acts.
Chrimas is ready and waiting!
12/25-Chrimasssssssssssss!
Starting Chrimas with the traditional breakfast casserole. That's Chelsea serving and our German exchange friend Christian watching. He's living with Andy and Angie until the end of January.
Opening presents from Uncle Jeff while he is on the phone before going to work. Thanks, Uncle Jeff!
Ally's new ornament from her grandma and grandpa.
Time for presents! You can see she is wearing all of the clothes she got for Christmas.
Ally was quickly overwhelmed and the opening of the presents went on sporadically for the next few days. Meanwhile, we went for a walk around
Green Lake.
Back for some more present opening, followed by another great dindin from Angie.
And just a few presents more...
12/26-Some sightseeing with Chelsea, Andy and Ma. For some reason at the Space Needle they will take a picture of you in front of a screen so it looks like you're far away from the Space Needle. It's free!
It was really windy up there.
Then we went to the
Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum, which is a weird mashup, but it works. They have a big funky sculpture made of hundreds of guitars that take turns playing all different kinds of music by themselves!
Battlstar.
Gwen is happy to see Chelsea.
Word in front of Sir Mix-a-Lot's drum machine.
Chelsea with Donatello.
12/27-After an amazing breakfast from Angie, Chelsea and I buzzed around Seattle by ourselves! We started at Pioneer Square and visited the awesome
Seattle Mystery Bookshop.
Then off to Beecher's, where they make their own cheese and then use it to make grilled cheese and mac & cheese! It was amazing.
Then we went to
Pike Place Market where Chelsea realized her life dream of watching men throw fish. And we bought way too many books.
We buzzed around our hotel a little while and then went out to fancypants dindin at
Le Pichet, which was exactly half decent. You can see that Chelsea is wearing her new bee necklace that she got for Chrimas!
10/28-Exploring the Fremont area, where Andy used to live. This Lenin statue has a fascinating
history.
They have other funky stuff there too, and lots of shopping.
Then we went to visit Bruce and Brandon Lee's graves.
Followed by an exciting round of memorial Beatles Rock Band!
We had an earlyish night after hanging out for a while...
12/29- ...and first thing in the morning we were back to LA, just in time for it to start raining again. By the end we had 16 straight days of rain, but we had to travel to get it! We went to see Black Swan, which I did not much care for and then we went to Adam Daroff's birthday game night.
12/30-I returned the Blu-Ray player that Jesse and Marika gave us and used it towards a new PS3 with Move and a few games. It is so awesome! So far Chelsea is into GTA IV, hope I can keep it that way.
12/31-Happy New Year! Sad to see this year go, it was easily the best of my entire life. And much of it was because of this wonderful lady...
