Monday night is Scrabble in the City night!
Easter/Passover Theme Word Winner kisses her prized egg
Originally uploaded by Word Freak. We hoped to play on the patio last Monday, but it wasn't quite patio weather yet. Tomorrow likely won't be either, but you can still play indoors at our weekly Scrabble in the City night.
Last week's Easter and Passover theme was won by Avigail (pictured here) whose LENT play won her the Theme Word Prize: a magical Easter egg left over from the Easter egg hunt. Honourable mention went to Deb and Mario whose YEAST play was voted runner-up.
The fun and games take place at Kilgour's pub on Bloor Street (just east of Bathurst). We start at 7PM and go 'til close to midnight. Come for a game or come for a drink. Stay as long as you want. Meet other cool people. Throw down a few tiles as you knock back a drink or two. Play a theme word and win a cool prize!
Not everyone who plays with us on Monday nights is so competitive, so don't worry about how good you are or how many words you know. I provide a "cheat sheet" of all the 2- and 3-letter words to get you going, and there's a mostly casual, laid-back vibe at Scrabble in the City. I hope you can join us.
