Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas! ♥
I hope everyone's holiday's are going well. Mine has been pretty chill, just a gnarly headache that won't go away. Watched A Princess for Christmas and we're now watching Die Hard.
Last night was my last night at Pop!Xylem, did six days a week from Dec. 1st until yesterday. Back to being unemployed.
Jessie & Olivia have been trying to adopt for a few years. On Thanksgiving they told us they found a mother in LA who was interested in them raising her daughter. Jessie told us what her name would be, asked Medra & I to be godmothers. We didn't tell a soul. Her mother blabbed to everyone in her family about it. They were supposed to go to LA on the 20th. They talked with the mother, she was all excited to meet them.
She stopped responding to texts, so Olivia looked for another way to make sure she was okay. By looking into her number, she found her FB page...under her married name. On her FB post there was her mother in law, posting about her giving birth to a son a day before.
Their lawyers said there were no signs of deception that they look for normally, nothing there. They gave this woman their savings. They canceled their flights into MA to visit us and Jessie's family. They booked tickets to LA.
This bitch took their hopes, their Christmas and their savings.
The day before Jessie called us and told us, Medra & I got a baby book and sent it to them. It had messages to our goddaughter in the back.
Pop!Xylem didn't go nearly as well as we thought it would. Better than if we were an unknown shop, but not well enough to continue post Christmas.
I have an appointment with the career center on the 3rd. We'll see what happens.
I am terrified to be living in this country, and I'm in a liberal state.
My friend Emma from grad school is visiting her family for the holidays and we met up. She was saying how helpless she feels that she can't do anything, can't call or anything. I told her, it doesn't help much. Didn't make her feel better, but I explained that, while, yes it is a way for our voice to be heard, it doesn't really do anything, it doesn't make you feel any better.
The upcoming rallies across the US on January 21st will at least make me feel better. I'll be going to the one in Boston.
