Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was awesome though I've seen that some of them were traditional horrible ones. What is it about families that "allows" them to be so cruel to one another?
Anyway, mine, for once, was brilliant. My brother and his family came down so yayes for nephew time. My nephews were really well behaved, too. It was quite a shock. Only thing that would've made the day better was a nap but, alas, there was a Penguins game on and boy howdy was it a good one :D.
Am so frelling tired due to not napping at all yesterday PLUS getting up early (yesterday and today). However, it is 3:30am and I'm about to head out to the Black Friday sales. I love Black Friday. So much love!!! I don't have much money this year and, to be honest, the sales suck. However, that shan't deter the wook clan because this is a tradition, dammit! Every year my family makes up their game plan and we go after it with verve and vigor. We're now a well-oiled machine with figuring out the best way to get in, get our stuff, get out and on to the next. We plan on hitting at least 5 stores by 10 am (Best Buy, K-Mart, Target, Circuit City and Toys R Us). Then, it's stop for breakfast and right back out again. By 3pm, we should be in bed napping with all of our Christmas shopping completed *grins*.
Random thought - this moodtheme makes me think "surprise buttsecks!" and not crazy...
ETA: Update: 10am and all shopping done and I'm at home.
All I can say is "Fuck you, Best Buy". Best Buy was selling bundled items as one of their doorbusters. Instead of offering the items available as bundles, they only had 10 bundles and you had to hunt a store clerk down to get a voucher. Otherwise, you could pay full retail for each of the separate bundle-items. As in, you can pay for piece a and piece b and piece c which were all available on the fucking shelves separately. Huh, well, your ad says you get the whole fucking thing for one price, you dickwads. This is the last year I go to Best Buy. They pull shit like this every year and I am so completely over it. Plus, add in that there were 6 people arrested for fighting in line and, well, not a good scene.
K-Mart didn't have half the items that were featured in the ad. I wouldn't have minded this had they been there and simply sold out ahead of me. But nope, they didn't have them to begin with and, of course, were not offering rainchecks.
Toys R Us had a bunch of pricks that were in the checkout line that decided to not let people even in to the store because we were "cutting" in line. Um, no. I'm going to buy shit and then get in line like 5 billion people behind you, mkthx. So, we left Toys R Us and ended up buying the stuff for almost the same price at Target.
However, the rest of K-Mart's stuff, Circuit City and Target were all made of win. You three get gold stars! We're heading to Kohl's this afternoon for the post-early bird sales (we need a new toaster and vacuum).
Also, this icon still looks like "surprise buttsecks". Perhaps I need to sleep more.
Off for a nap!
