Not A "Lonely boy"

Made my first visit to the infamous Madison Square Garden in NYC on Monday. Granted, it's just a basketball arena, but with NY being the center of the universe, so many legendary shows have happened here. Plus, i had a great group of friends to share it with me as my boss, who had gotten 4 tix to the sold out show, had to be in London for business. Oh darn.

Arctic Monkeys opened the show and were lot of fun lads from Sheffield. i've been humming (?) their track "Don't Sit Down 'Cause i Moved Your Chair" off of Suck It And See since it came out last summer.

For just guitar and drums ala White Stripes, these guys can fill an arena. They had two guys filling in on guitar/bass/keyboards for about half the songs, but they were relegated to the back and kept in the dark for the most part. This was their show. And you'd be surprised how they filled the space! The crowd was on their feet for the whole show and by the time they closed the show with "Lonely Boys", the hipsters were hoppin' and boppin', disaffected no more!
