Westside Surf

On Friday, we explored the westside of the island. Not much happening on the westside (or "leeward side" in island-speak). We did see some cool, big waves without the crowds that were on the North Shore for the surfing tourney. We also found a homeless encampment, though i guess in this neighborhood, these tents, shacks and shelters could be construed as semi-permanent housing. We didn't stop to ask questions.

On the way home, we stopped by the I'olani Palace, the only real palace in the US (no photos, please) and posed with King Kamehameha who, as it turns out, is hidden behind my head. But the rains started so we had to bail. Still, we got to wear one of our cute new aloha shirts.

More relaxing by the pool and on the beach which was right there. Got to show off my new blue speedo. Happy drinks, a hot tub to soak our aching feet and legs and a warm island rain shower. You'll notice that my speedo matches my puppy tag, my cocktail AND the xmas tree!! Matt has been a good influence on me. LOL!!

In the evening, we wandered around, ate at the "Rock 'n' Roll Cafe" and then wound up at the Aloha Bears' charity xmas bar night.
