Between A Rock And A Spaceship

The ever-woofy and cuddly Chad was hosting the Hard Rock Cafe's rolling memorabilia collection that is touring the country to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Chad has been there for 16 years - yes, 16 years...he doesn't look it, the eternal cub - and is the official tour guide around the Cafe. So he was the natural to guide the guests through this tour through history.

Lyrics written by Lennon, Hendrix, Dylan, Madonna's "Like a Virgin" wedding dress and Katy Perry's cake dress, outfits from Steven Tyler, Ace Fehley, Freddie Mercury, Peter Frampton, guitars from Clapton, Townsend, Hendrix, Prince and even Justin Bieber's skateboard. Something for everyone. It was so cool to share this with Chad because he loves this stuff as much as me.

On the way home, i passed by the old Del Taco that has been center of a local controversy. It started as a gas station way back when (i'm thinking City Service - the forerunner of Citgo which is now owned by the Columbians) and is really not that great as a walk-up restaurant. But it's a really rare example of mid-century modern architecture. Should they save it? Good question.
