Covert Cocktails
i got home and had forgotten that on Wednesdays in the summer, the "wxyz" has live performers, usually a singer with a guitar or perhaps a DJ, but this time was an duo of electric piano and drums. Not bad and they did some "ironic" covers - Billy Joel, Chicago - which i liked. The fact that the piano player/singer wasn't wearing shoes gave him that hipster cred. i guess you can get served with no shoes here. Maybe i should try no shirt? i had a wild berry tea from dinner, so got some Ciroc Red Berry to mix with it. Yummy. i met a couple friends down at the Eagle for karaoke, but felt like i got ripped off. i did "Everyday Is Like Sunday" when there were only 3 people there and the regular host was being covered by a flunky since she was late. When she and a crowd showed up about 45 minutes later, i got shoved to the end of the line for a second number. One of her favorites had sung twice. But after more than 90 minutes, i thought that was too long to wait and it was 11 so i went home.
