Lost In The Supermarket

Yesterday morning started early. They did a software upgrade on Friday night and i was up and headed downtown to do a validation after it was all back up. The reason i had to go downtown is that my remote access is all hosed up due to our moving to the other building and i don't really have anyone on the team else available. We had agreed that i'd check it at 4am PST which is 6 am local. When i got up, i saw that i'd missed a call at 2:30 to say it was ready for me. So i got down there and saw on the client email that they had called the client manager who went in at 4:30 and did the validation. So i don't know what kind of fall out there will be on that come Monday. i don't think he knew about the pre-arranged time. *sigh* So i went home, put on the coffee and climbed back into bed with Mr Wonderful for some snuggle time. We got up and made our plans. He was going over to Dr Steve's house to do some painting - he and his wife just had a new baby and they're finishing a remodel/addition to the house. i had to go pick up some supplies and then help Christopher with his computer again. Matt left first and i was 10 minutes behind him. Or so i thought. i jump in the wooferJeep and nothing. There's some kinda short in the electrical system on that piece of crap. So there i sat. i wired up my battery-charger/jumper, but still couldn't get it go come to life. Eventually, Matt came home to rescue me and i took him back to the Steve's and then head out. Getting around was a nightmare as i had to hit a couple Best Buys thinking i would get a new HD for the computer. But i couldn't remember if he had an SATA or EIDE, so i gave up on it. i couldn't get him on the phone either. i was driving around in a pissy mood first worried about work, then the jeep and now i wasn't accomplishing anything. i was in a mood to hurt someone. i am not a good person. i was headed back to the house when Christopher called. So i went over there and worked on his system. i had a boot disk on me so i could run CHKDSK on the whole C: drive and it had a bad record that it couldn't fix before since Windows running locked it out. It took awhile and i had to be patient while it ran. So i talked to Christopher about his new art projects. He's a zen buddhist and so it's always good to visit him. His house is very calm with soothing lights and chilled music - Enigma is a fave of his - and lots of art. So when i left a few hours later to go home, i was a lot calmer.
We picked up Phil/pyro_13 and went down to the bar for the Bear meeting. The only real thing we had to do was give away the money from Hibearnation. That made me feel good; that even in this economy we were able to raise nearly $10,000 to split between our three charities. They appreciated it too. But we weren't up for staying, so we left Phil with Big Jason and went grocery shopping. Apparently 9:30 on a Saturday night is the perfect time to go grocery shopping since it was rather empty. We were in bed by 11 and i got paged overnight again. We really need to fix that system.

groceries, art, 366, computers, zen
