Work is fine. i got a call from CostCo yesterday evening and they told me that my new glasses are ready for pickup. You may recall a few weeks ago when i let everyone look at my options, choose their favorites and then
guess which pair i picked. i have a work dinner tonight, so i guess we'll go to CostCo tomorrow night (i'm out of cottage cheese, Bud Light and Quervo - three staples of my diet) so Matt will make up a shopping list and i'll unveil them on Friday.
Speaking of Matt, he finally got his taxes done last night. When i got home i had to dig up medical bills and other deductibles and at 6 minutes after 9pm, he handed his envelope to the nice young lady standing in the middle of Market Street in front of the Main Post Office in downtown St Louis. Ever since i was a kid, i remember seeing the "festivities" on the 10 o'clock news, but we lived way out in the middle of nowhere and getting down to the post office would take over an hour. Now it's only ten minutes away, but there were only 2 news teams (Fox does their news at 9...i should have flipped them off as we passed...i hate Fox!) and not a whole lot of traffic. i guess the advent of eFiling has eliminated the need for that last minute dash to the post office. i heard on the radio that TurboTax (the program Matt used) had a giant server overload last year and was ready for the crush this year. For some reason, Matt couldn't eFile his federal, so off we went.
i must admit, it was rather anti-climactic. We stopped off at JJ's and i bought him a cocktail and a couple of our friends were there. But this was a schoolnight, so one was it. Time to get home and get to bed. There was work to do in the morning.
