Weekend #1,713 of my life...
Another weekend come and gone... I remember many years ago, when a weekend meant two days without responsibility or expectation...
Seems like a waste now!
(On a side-note, in coming up with the weekend count for this post, I learned that I am exactly 1,714 weeks old today, and on Wednesday, I will be 12,000 DAYS old... God I hate useless knowledge sometimes...)
Friday -- Headed to the store after work and ran a decently busy Friday Night Magic tournament... Spent most of the evening organizing last-minute things for the weekend ahead... Went home and tried my hand at Terriyaki-Chicken... I'm trying to explore this whole, "cooking" thing. It's going... Well... Everything is edible! I'll consider that an accomplishment for now.
Saturday -- Slept in until 8A, then scrubbed my tub... God I love a nice long bath in a freshly scrubbed tub... With the water extra hot, the jets turned up all the way and the bubbles... E'RYWHERE! Got ready, headed to the store early, had an AWESOME turnout for the Pre-Release! We hit capacity perfectly, and didn't have to turn anyone away! (Which always makes me happy!) Ended up getting out of there a little late, then headed to the office to work on a bid due this morning... There just aren't enough hours in the week and my boss offered me some, before-now UNHEARD OF overtime, if I came in this weekend... Considering that I have a set salary, this comes as quite a shock and sets an awesome precedent which, considering how many nights and weekends I've worked here over the last... *cough* (nearly)decade... *cough... Wait, fuck... This week is my 9-year anniversary with the company... SHEESH! Anyway, ended up working until 1.30A to get it done.
Sunday -- Got home at 2A and stayed up until 5A, working on bills... Passed out, woke up, back to the store. Sunday's event included a cut to the Top 8 players, which meant a few more hours at the store... But things definitely got interesting as the top players got eliminated. Of course, that may have something also to do with the fact that I started drinking at some point... Regardless, the evening went smoothly and as I was closing up, konrankemono and whythedragon showed up. We ran to the grocery store for supplies and I cooked up some Sloppy Joes for dinner, followed by TV-time and downloading of email... My... Email doesn't seem to have been working properly for some time, because for SOME reason... I found myself with 800 new messages spread out over the last YEAR. Didn't have time to look into it.
Monday -- Was up until 2A and over-slept until 9A.... Which, is actually fine as I had to run to the banks in the morning and move some funds around and they didn't open until 9A anyway. After work today, I've got class from 6P-10P... I plan on following that up with some deleting of emails and passing out early for a change.
