Summary: Kurt's sick of his boss hitting on him so he asks Finn to pretend to be his boyfriend. Future fic.

Author's Notes: I saw this prompt on the Glee Kink meme and I couldn't resist it:

I was watching "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry" and this idea came to my mind... Kurt ends up asking Finn to pretend to be his "boyfriend", I don't know why, do whatever you want anon... He says yes, because he wants to help his friend and all that.
So as the days pass, Finn falls in love with Kurt and wants to move forward with their relationship.

IDK I need some sexy times please :D

So I decided to have go, it will be in short chapters due to exams and after someone said they were willing to wait I didn't want to make them have to wait too long for all of it. Chapter two is already written if people like it.

Many thanks to adeina_rhyddha for betaing.

“I need you to pretend to be my boyfriend.”

Finn spat out his coffee, staring wide-eyed at the smaller brunet who stood in front of him, hands on hips and looking possibly more menacing then he had ever seen the smaller male.

“Wh…what?! Kurt, I’m flattered but…” he started but the other brunet just shot him a look that suggested he should shut up pretty quickly.

This was surprisingly normal behavior for Finn Hudson and Kurt Hummel. Well other then the whole boyfriend thing, that was new but the arguing and the looks? That was pretty normal now. They’d both moved to New York about six months ago and had decided that if they wanted to afford a decent place it was worth renting out somewhere together. They weren’t living anywhere lavish and the neighborhood wasn’t wonderful but they’d managed to get a little place above a coffee shop. There were a few troublemakers around along with a couple of young couples and one nice, new family. It wasn’t a place you’d want to live the rest of your life, in fact Kurt wanted to get out of there as soon as possible but it wasn’t too terrible. At least they didn’t have to worry about being mugged every night.

Finn supposed that since moving in together they’d grown a little closer, they had to put up with each-others bad habits and if they wanted to survive they had to work together. That meant Kurt doing most of the cooking and cleaning actually. If there were any little problems with the electricity or the lighting then Finn had started to learn how to fix them, he was starting to see himself as the odd-job’s man of the apartment. Admittedly when he’d brought that up one dinner time, Kurt had just shot him a withering looking before point-blank telling him that it didn’t mean he was getting out of doing normal chores. That had kind of been his plan actually so that had been a bit of a drag.

Other then that it was fun living with Kurt most of the time, they were good friends. They had fun and they both knew to clear out if the other had a date in case he wanted to bring them back and how to cheer each other up if the date went wrong. They just sat and watched TV together, sometimes cuddling up if it was cold and they wanted to share a blanket or something. Kurt was smaller so Finn was actually pretty okay with it; it wasn’t like they were doing anything weird. Just sharing body heat really. That wasn’t gay.

In fact Finn hadn’t even thought about his flat mates’ sexuality that much since they’d moved in together. It was hard to forget sometimes with his choice in clothing or comments he made about the actors when they watched movies or when he talked about one of his dates but the rest of the time it was fine. They were comfortable enough around each other for it not to be a problem anymore.

Well, up until just now.

“Finn, I’m not asking you to seriously go out with me. I know you’re not interested in me in that way. I just need you to pretend for a little while,” Kurt told him.

Honestly Kurt wouldn’t be doing this unless he felt that he had to. Sure he had seriously liked Finn in high school and well, there was still a slight flame for him that would just not go out but he wouldn’t try and get the other to date him again.

He’d learned his lesson a long time ago.

He was just in a bit of a desperate situation right now. You see when you're stuck working as an intern you tend to be easy prey for the higher ups. Working in a minor fashion magazine didn't change that and the fact was that his higher up had taken an interest in him. He was a disgusting, greasy man in his late thirties with a wife and kids back home who he couldn't care less about. The only good thing about him was that he dressed well and he made sure Kurt got paid his wages. Only lately he had taken to calling Kurt into his office to ask for 'favors'. Only that afternoon he had called him into his office and had asked him to suck him off while he put off a call to his wife.

It was absolutely vile.

So Kurt had politely informed him that under no circumstances would his lips be going anywhere near any part of his anatomy and that if he didn’t like that then it was his problem. As much as he liked his job, it wasn’t worth losing his dignity over.

Mr. Andrews seemed to disagree though.

He’d crossed one leg over another and had leaned back crossing his arms and had raised a fine brow, smirking over at the twenty-something brunet.

“Oh, really? If you want to keep your job you better have a very good excuse or you can count yourself as out of a job,” he’d sneered. Kurt had just held his head up high and had glared down at his sitting boss,

“You can’t do that. This is sexual harassment and if you did that it would be a case for unfair dismissal. I could sue,” he retorted, crossing his own arms as he stood tall. He wasn’t afraid of someone so slimy; if he had to he’d go to those higher about Mr. Andrews to complain about him, he knew he wouldn’t be the first to have complained.

“With what money? There is no way you can afford to sue Mr. Hummel so are you going to do as I request or do you have another complaint.”

This wasn’t going the way Kurt wanted it to, he was losing but there was no way he was going to lose his dignity or his job.

“I have a boyfriend. I refuse to take part in such tasks for you when I have a boyfriend who trusts me back home,” he quickly said. He hadn’t really thought that through before speaking, he didn’t have a boyfriend! He hadn’t been on a date in weeks and he couldn’t just go out and find a new boyfriend. They had to get along and know each other and actually be able to see like they were dating.

That had been when it had hit him.

Finn.

Finn was the perfect fake boyfriend. He was tall enough to be an imposing figure so hopefully Mr. Andrews wouldn’t try to pick a fight plus they were living together and had known each other since high school. Oh happy days!

“Do you now? How come I haven’t seen you around with him then?” Mr. Andrews questioned a small smirk on his face. It was obvious that he thought he had won but Kurt wasn’t going to give in. He was no way going to do something so degrading for someone so disgusting.

“He’s usually busy. He’ll be with me at the Mary Ann’s leaving party though,” Kurt replied calmly and his boss couldn’t find fault with it. He didn’t appear to be lying but he supposed he would catch him out that weekend.

*****

That brings Kurt back to the present.

He was standing in front of Finn, hands on hips and actually pleading him now.

“I’m desperate Finn. My boss is disgusting and he keeps hitting on me so I told him I had a boyfriend. There’s no way I’d be able to find anyone else who knows me well enough in time and there’s no way I’m giving into his demands and if I don’t I’ll lose my job,” he begged and it was rare for him to do such a thing. It wasn’t dignified after all and well, it did the job. Finn could see how important it was to the smaller brunet so he sighed and shrugged.

“Okay, I’ll do it.”

Kurt had been prepared to get on his knees and beg just then, okay, maybe not but he had been debating baking something or promising Finn he could have whatever he wanted on TV for the next month just to change his mind. His blue-green eyes brightened and he sighed in relief, dropping his arms before he slumped down on the sofa next to the taller male.

“Thanks Finn. I owe you,” he said, turning to smile at his flat mate brightly

They sat in near silence for the rest of the evening, discussing dinner briefly and making the odd comment about what was on the screen in front of them. It was peaceful and they nearly forgot about their arrangement, falling back into normal pattern. Well it seemed like it, as Kurt got up to go have a bath before he went to bed, Finn turned his head and spoke up.

“Hey, do you want me to pick you up from work tomorrow? We could go out for dinner, no where fancy as y’know, we can’t afford it but we can say it’s a date.” It was a good suggestion and it would be nice to not have to cook for the evening.

“Okay then. I finish at five so come pick me up from the office. You remember where it is?” Finn nodded and Kurt smiled before he headed into the bathroom, calling out a quick goodnight before he went.

There was a part of him that was really excited. After all these years he was finally going on a date with Finn Hudson. Not with their parents or the other Glee club members but just the two of them. It wasn’t something they’d done before, even as friends. They’d had lunch once or twice but since moving in it was easier and cheaper to just stay in and cook or if Finn had his way, order take away. Going out to a restaurant for dinner was different. Ooooh for some reason he wanted to squeal so hard but that would be stupid and actually rather annoying. Why did Kurt want to do something that annoyed him so much when other people did it, well girls did it. It wasn’t very often that you heard a guy squeal. Did that make him strange? Well, no stranger then usual he supposed. But he was excited, actually excited for the next night.

He was going on a date with Finn, it may have been pretend and Kurt may have given up on the idea of actually being something with Finn but it was special all the same.

He was going to have to take some of his beauty supplies to work. He would have to look perfect.
