So where have I been? Writing, writing, writing. I’ve been writing until the words burned into my brain and spilled out of my ears, but the net result was a completed Draft Two of the Biohazard work-in-progress.

Nothing’s worse than having the end in sight - or at least within 10K - and knowing that, once I type “The End”1, I have to go back and cut giant chunks2 to make room for what should be there.

I bet if I go back through my journal and count the number of times I write, “Yeah, I know I haven’t posted recently, and I’ll do better, I promise, but don’t worry I’m still around and reading other people’s posts and keeping up with my RSS feeds”, I’ll be embarrassed. Because I hate sounding like a broken record.
I’ve been remiss and haven’t been posting snippets. Not because there’s a lack of snippet material, but more of a lack of producing. I complain enough that this book is moving slow - at about the slow ooze of snail slime - but I like what’s coming out.
I have a cold. The cold generates a lot of snot. The snot requires medication to break up and dissipate. The medication doesn’t work. It makes me loopy, though.
How loopy?
Loopy enough to find this snippet funny… and I’m not sure if it really is funny. You be the judge…

It’ll probably the last snippet for 2009 (unless I come up with a good one between now and New Year’s Eve), so I hope it gives people the same chuckle I get whenever I re-read this bit.

Every once in a while I think of something that I should post something to the blog, but by the time I get home, walk the dogs, make dinner, pound out my (hopefully) 1000 words, I forgot what I was going to post about.
I think I’ll do a year round up before the end of 2009, though, because it’s been a pretty busy year with lots of ups and downs.
