I have just had to do something which I do not wish on anyone, friend or foe. I took Bruce out of his tank, very gently pried open his jaw with my fingertips, and reached into his mouth so I could pull out the piece of bark caught on his teeth. His rows of needle-sharp teeth, which I nicked my fingers on in the process.
Normally, if he gets a piece of debris in his mouth while swallowing his prey, he simply eats that as well and passes it later. I've seen him swallow a small stick without any trouble, but in this case the bark becamed lodged in his jaw and he was unable to loosen it.
I'm going to change the bedding in his tank, I think.
