Scenes from today

Sep 18, 2013 21:30

Today was an ordinary day:  I cycled to and from work and walked from my office to another building nearby for a meeting.  Here are some scenes from that ordinary day:

No, I have not photoshopped the shark!  This unusual sight is in a street near my office.  Here it is in the context of the street:

The shark is quite a local landmark.  Even the local fish and chip shop has put a shark over its door to join in the joke!

(this fish and chip shop photo is not mine but from a blog called Leah in the UK)

After the shark attack, here is something calmer:  the last, long streaks of sun over the fields on my cycle ride home

I have not enhanced the orange colour:  it really was that bright, even against the green.

Here's a slightly different shot catching a bit more of the sunset on the trees by the river:

And then the reflections on the river itself:

I've had to abandon my usual favoured spot on the bridge as the clouds and tree reflection only appear like this from one angle;  the view from the bridge was quite dull. Here is the whole scene as it appears approaching it along the cycle track:

So, for an ordinary day, there were some unusual sights.   Hope you enjoyed them!
