This has to be one of the busiest weeks I've had in a while.
Sunday - Alex and Juli come for a visit
Monday - Presentation that I got done over on
Tuesday - I get an email from my professor asking if I wanted to be a student researcher in an MRI studying she's doing. Whaaaat? I didn't even get those kind of opportunities before, if you minus out that random elephant's foot.
Wednesday - I get an email from the DI head simply labeled: MR when I come back from nine hours of clinical that included a site visit from the coordinator from QU. I open it while trying to get my food, thinking oh this must have something to do with that study. I read it. I've been chosen for the Toshiba Scholarship Award - an all expense paid one week internship oshiba American Medical Systems MRI educational center in Irvine, California.
.... What?! Excuse me, but what?!
And here I was thinking that I was pretty lucky to have been chosen as a student researcher. I don't think I've ever been shocked so speechless in my life. I've never been so excited and shocked that I could barely hold from making small squealing noises and jumping and dancing around like an idiot. The term flushed with excitement now has meaning. No, not sexual. I must have a really thin epidermal layer and very little melanin. Or maybe easily dilated capillaries. What the heck, dermal layers. Can you not make me splotchy all the time?
Now to study for Thursday - two tests back to pack.
And then Friday? Luckily, nothing out of the ordinary (So far!) aside from a ten hour shift and cleaning the cage.
