Who here watched Studio 60 back in the day? I don't know about you, but it was one of the shows I most anticipated watching, it being Aaron Sorkin's return to television after his stellar seasons on The West Wing, which is one of my favorite shows ever, and it starring Matthew Perry and Bradley Withford, both actors I liked a lot and was already missing on my television. I already knew by then Sorkin was not without his flaws, but I knew he could write great dialogue, and I was looking forward to Studio 60.

I made it through six episodes, then dropped it. I wanted it so much to be good, but it was not. The dialogue wasn't good, the characters weren't good, I can't really remember what there was in terms of story.

(Then falseeeyelashes and fated-addiction wrote some Jordan McDeere/Jack Rudolph fics, magically making them one of my favorite ships ever, even though they'd barely interacted in the few episodes I'd seen.)

Anyway. The point is, I tried to start watching it again today. In part to see if there were any good moments with Jack and Jordan, whom I still love but nobody writes anymore (haha, so basically, I ran out of fic and had to resort to canon), in part because Matthew Perry has a new show coming up in the fall, which I am looking forward to, and that reminded me of this situation. Partly because I thought maybe my opinion of it would be different if I didn't go in with huge expectations and, in fact, went in with very low expectations.

Well, I was sort of right: without all the goodwill I brought in the last time, it is actually much worse! I am surprised it took me so long to see what a raging douche Danny Tripp was, and even though I'm trying again really hard to like Matthew Perry's character, so was Matt Albie. I never liked Harriet, but she was even worse this time around, and I'm still watching episode 4. I was surprised to see it's a full 22 episode-season, I thought it'd have maybe 15 at most. Still, I always meant to go back and watch this, and I've already downloaded it (instead of Justified, stupidly).
