but i couldnt get rid of my threes
well, i am in a slightly better and far more optimistic mood than i was last night/this morning. so in the immortal words of monty python, "always look on the bright side of life". here are the top ten best things that happened to me in 2004:
10. silver bay. need i say more?
9. joined the xc team, which quite possibly saved my life, or at the very least gave it much more meaning.
8. the anamegahaniakaren thing started, and they have been my girls ever since.
7. i met scooter. okay? she is like, SO COOL!
6. i was sitting there shyly at my first poho conference, when maizy came over and put her arm around me and we've been friends ever since.
5. i met will and vinny, who are like chocolate syrup on my poho cheesecake.
4. i had an incredible relationship with peter, and even if it's a little rocky right now (and has been at other times), my life would be so different without it.
3. schroeder came out of his shell. ASSHOLE!!!! i may never stop laughing.
2. i became incredibly close to madeline. this too may possibly have saved my life.
1. i started going to powell house, which has just made it all okay.
wow, it's really weird that silver bay is number ten. like, lots of incredible stuff happened this year, so number ten overall is not bad, but the thing is, i spend my whole time looking forward to silver bay, and like thinking about it exclusively, and convincing myself it's the most important thing in the world. but look at that list! look at vinny, and scooter, and william, and maizy, and mega and hania and karen, and moogie, and peter, and schroeder, and the xc team. think about all the amazing things that have happened. even though it wasnt all rosey, there are all these amazing people in my life that make it so...worth it. and not just those ones, either. there's kat, eliza, erin, pj, ruqayyah, tim + sim (sometimes), jiffy, kirky, poopoo, krystin, jacinta, hilary, allister, phil, wayne (no, not kidding), scott, helen, chelsea (my trombone chick darling), ian, shawn, tara, rachella, lyssa, telaina, sarah (fairy godmother heaven), barbara, franky, sam branman (amazing hair, love)...everyone! ana rose, your life cannot possibly be as bad as you think it is...right?
