I have got so little concrit, and I could shower you in oodles of praise but it basically all be the colours, the compositions and the text use is just brilliant everywhere. If I'm being super, super picky here in icon #2, the black top border edge catches my eye -- I think if it was in the shades of yellow/blue that are along the other edges it would blend in better. But I'm being super nit-picky here. And Amy's face in #4 is perhaps a teensy bit too dark on my monitor, but the tones are so gorgeous. And #1 'tis perfect.
Heya, I'll just concrit your most recent set, since you get better with every post! I really love this but I feel like it would be even more effective up the right way. There's already brilliant detail with the background and the cut outs, I think the flip is just a little bit too much; unless its serving a purpose which I've missed, in which case don't mind me =). In this one I find there's a real clash between the bright yellow texture along the top and bottom, and the muted colours of the photo. The texture overpower the image, I think the image itself could pop a little more, or the texture toned down to compensate. I think in the case of icons like #20 and #30 less is more might help make them stand out, sometimes there's so much going on I don't know where to look and everything gets a little bit lost. But there's some brilliant compositions going on here, like 01, 02, 14, 23 and 27 (the softness here is perfect!). Hopefully that was a little bit helpful =)
Thank you! It's always interesting and helpful to hear what other people think of my icons, whether it's too much or too little etc so it's definitely lovely to hear from you! Thank you so much for taking the time :D ♥ I do agree I tend to do a lot of things to an icon, I love compositions, I should just hold back a little sometimes :)
I really don't have much concrit, the first icon is brilliant, contrast between the colours works brilliantly. Only small detail is that #4 seems a little over-sharpened on my monitor, particularly along the lines.
Thanks so much! And yes, definitely agree about the sharpening, it was so hard to even get it to that point of not being completely oversharpened everywhere, ahaha.
Thank you for your praise icons, and it's really interesting you say that about the simpler icons, since the feedback I've often had in the past is that I over-complicate my icons

My last few posts should be the best thing to go by :) But I am open to anything really. ♥
Inception, Hana Yori Dango / 5 Centimeters Per Second (Anime/Manga), a multifandom (mostly movies) post.
Coming back in a while to praise and concrit ♥
