[ At first, there's nothing but darkness.
Then a fuzzy image flickers into being, and slowly clears up. There is a young man on the other end (or at least he looks young), dressed like he's just stepped out from Victorian England.
His eyes are slightly unnerving; they are incredibly dark. It's a little like staring into an abyss, and having it stare back.
There may be slight dizziness.
He begins to speak, and he even has the accent to go with his clothing; a slight one, but it's there all the same. He also sounds rather tetchy. ]
What is this?
I have enough of a war to deal with back in the House. I do not need to be...drafted into another one like one of Thursday's recruits - I have had quite enough of military service already.
And I most certainly would not jump down some hole to this...Wonderland place. Although it doesn't seem very wondrous to me, seeing as you've had to pull in 'foreigners' to supplement your ranks for the impending war.
In any case, I must return to the House as soon as possible. I have a garden to tend, after all; and my siblings will likely pull the place apart in my absence.
