This Saturday it's the 24th Annual Mermaid Parade at Coney Island! Rain Or Shine.
The Mermaid Parade is the nation's largest art parade and one of New York City's greatest summer events. It celebrates the sand, the sea, the salt air and the beginning of summer, as well as the history and mythology of Coney Island, Coney Island pride, and artistic self expression.
For parade participants, registration begins at 10AM, Parade begins at 2PM. Procession to the beach and the ceremonial ribbon cutting immediately following the parade. This years King and Queen are Lucky Diamond Rich, The World's Most Tattooed Person and Bambi The Mermaid, The Queen Of Coney Island!. Spectators are advised to arrive early for best viewing spots and please use mass transit.
Immediately following the Parade, it's The 4th Annual Mermaid Parade Ball. The ball is the perfect way to chill out after the parade. Join us for the air-conditioned splendor of club Velocity, located in the historic Henderson's Building, for a beautiful evening of Mermaid Parade afterglow.
Featuring Live Music from
Les Sans Culottes, Future in Plastics, The Marina, DJ One Mic.
With burlesque and sideshow performances by Tigger, Little Brooklyn, Creamy Stevens, Todd Robbins, Adam "The Original Man" Rinn, and other superstars!

The Mermaid ball tickets are $10, VIP Tickets $50 (21 and over).
