Dear readers,
Femslash For Fans at
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/allaine is a call-in Internet radio show I've been hosting for the past three months, devoted to Internet femslash fan communities and the authors who write there. The goal is to give femslash fanfic authors the chance to be interviewed over the medium of live audio, and readers the chance to hear what their favorites have to say.
In the wake of the extremely successful discussions in recent weeks of popular femslash pairings in TV crime drama, like "Women's Murder Club", "Criminal Minds", and "Los Hombres de Paco", the series continues, airing LIVE next Thursday, September 3rd, at 10 PM EST:
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/allaine/2009/09/11/CSI-Miami CSI: Miami - Ariestess, Shatterpath, and the Birth of Duvista
I know, some of you hear "CSI: Miami" and think of David Caruso and how he hides the face of an eighty-year-old man behind those damn sunglasses. But others get a much more aesthetically pleasing image when they think of CSI: Miami, namely the romantic pairing of Calleigh Duquesne (Emily Proctor) and Natalia Boa Vista (Eva La Rue). Blonde and brunette, short and tall, hot and, um, equally hot. In this episode we'll be discussing "Duvista" and CSI: Miami femslash in general as we continue our series on femslash in televised crime dramas. Our guests are the writing team of
ariestess and
shatterpath - fanfic writers with years of experience, maintainers of the Duvista community on Livejournal, and hosts of the Shatterstorm Productions website. We'll talk to them about their roles in creating the popular Duvista fandom almost from scratch, their works, and the relative appeal of Duvista compared to the CSI/CSI: Miami crossover pairings that have been written almost from the first aired episode of the Florida spinoff.
I hope people here will listen in. If you can't listen live, you can listen later by downloading the .mp3 file. There will also be a live chatroom while the show is on. You can also go to
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/allaine to hear all previous interviews.
Remember, the show airs at 10 PM Eastern Standard Time and runs until 11:00 PM. Please join us. We're all very excited for this occasion.
Sincerely, Allaine
