I think that SE see's FF as a "sure thing" and they can kind of do whatever they want and it doesn't matter what people are saying. I hope they wake up

It didn't help that as the beta was ending SE came out and said they would address "all" the issues and in the end they really only fixed the hardware mouse issue.
Everyone that paid for the collectors edition got and extra week with the game, but it was so broken it wasn't worth it. I was one of those people and it's REALLY ruined my opinion of all things SE.
The whole PC release really felt like it was just and extended beta for the PS3 release. AND their attempts to make the players happy are a joke. Why would I want free playtime on an unplayable game. I want my $80 back.

I know what you mean about SE thinking FF is a sure thing, and I really hope like you that their recent problems makes them change their view on their games... But it sound's like they're interested in going further down that XIII route with XIII-2 (if the originals were so good themselves, why do they need sequels?)
