skyrim console vs pc

Skyrim. I knew I was getting it for the xbox for Christmas and come Christmas morning I was all but doing an old lady caramelldansen in anticipation. I loved Oblivion and just WANTED, lol.

Alas, I cannot get into it to save my life. I'm level 17 now and am actually debating seeing if I can find someone willing to swap the xbox one for the pc version. Would it be worth it if I could find the swap? Do the pc mods really make it that much more enjoyable? I'm finding so many things.. clodgy during play. I wish items were ordered differently, I wish carrying stuff wasn't so limited, I wish I could control my toon better so that I can get a hit or two in before my follower massacres the bad guy.

My big concern for PC play is that I sit in a recliner and my TV is my monitor (Health issues keep me from using a desk, sadly). my keyboard is on my lap and my mouse on the arm of the recliner. Just how horrible awkward would that be? How do PCers lockpick? (I am a dirty little thief, lol)

Outside of MMOs and oldschool games, all my gaming is via consoles. I do have a razer naga mouse which I guess would help some?

I'm heading to bed very soon and won't have a change to reply to anyone till evening, but I look forward to your opinions. Thanks for any advice you can offer.
